Arsenal boss bows down to Man City & Spurs

Following their defeat at the hands of Manchester City, Arsenal are now 10 points behind arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur with manager Unai Emery noting that winning consistently is the reason they cannot compete with the top three.

Sergio Aguero netted his 14th hat-trick in Manchester City colors with strikingly similar goals against Arsenal. Laurent Koscielny bagged a header from a corner in the first half to draw Arsenal level momentarily. The defeat also meant that Arsenal have fallen off the top four and have dropped to sixth, three points off Champions League places.

In a press conference after the loss to Manchester City, Unai Emery was asked whether he felt Arsenal had closed the gap to City since the 2-0 defeat in August that marked the start of his tenure, “I cannot say a lot about that. They showed their superiority.

“The difference, for example, with City, Liverpool also is big. Tottenham, also, is keeping a lot of regularity in a lot of matches. Our situation now is we need to think game by game, keep our regularity and consistency in 38 matches. Today we lost but it’s normal, they showed their superiority.”
