KFCB sponsors Kenya National Drama Festival to promote youth talent

Kenya Films and Classification Board CEO, Ezekiel today shared their commitment  to supporting and promoting youth talent by working together with Kenya National Drama Festival team.

Mutua was today the Chief Guest at the Annual Nairobi Teachers Training Colleges Film and Drama Seminar which took place at Thogoto Teachers Training College.

Films and drama are powerful tools for setting agenda for the society and can be used to curb the social ills such as corruption, dishonesty, immorality, indecency among other vices that ail the nation.

Mutua mentioned that children should  be allowed to grow both in talent and character stating that the curriculum captures intellectual development, drama is an avenue to challenge ourselves to aid the development of the inner person.

The KFCB Boss believes that Film, drama and theater must promote Kenya’s culture and moral values and build an orderly society that values morality and decency.

He also encouraged that Drama, film and theater must communicate our national aspirations, promote social values, inculcate virtues and seek to reverse the spate of moral decadence that has plagued our motherland.

Mutua highlighted that the Kenya National Drama Festival 2019 is more than a festival. It is an opportunity to add value to lovers of art, mould character and engrave values on our young people.

Kenyans seconded his remarks saying that creative arts acts as a central pillar that bring different tribes, races and religion together and thus need to be appreciated.

Apart from a platform, the festival also brings together young people from different parts of the country and this pushes forward the agenda of  unity.
