Hard Core Criminals Confess Their Sins After a Heavy Drinking Spree

Did you know that alcohol can make you confess your sins?

Well, Five People were arrested over claims of being behind various cases of robbery within Nyeri town with the latest Robbery taking place in a Entertainment joint.

Four of the suspects were arrested inside their hideout where they were indulging some of the alcohol they allegedly stole.

A woman working at the joint was arrested on suspicion of planning and aiding the robbery. Police said that the suspects broke into Chania Tavern located along the Nyeri – King’ong’o highway at around 11PM on Wednesday night.

“The attacked the guard using a machete and tied him up before he could raise alarm. They then proceeded into the joint and took an assortment of electronics and alcohol,” Nyeri Central Sub- County police boss Paul Kuria said.

Police said that television sets, surveillance equipment, a sound mixer and a car wash pump were reported to have been stolen from the premise. They even stole all the meat from the butchery section of the entertainment joint and hundreds of litres of liquor and beverages which were found in their possession.

The guard later raised alarm at around 3AM prompting a manhunt inside the sprawling Witemere Slums on the outskirts of Nyeri Town. Sniffer dogs this morning(Thursday) led police to a wooden house in Witemere where the suspects were hiding enjoying the liquor they allegedly stole. “

They were enjoying some of the alcohol they stole when we found them. Which is very unfortunate but we also managed to recover most of the stolen items,” Mr Kuria said.

Drama unfolded as the suspects who could barely stand on their feet found themselves surrounded by police officers with nowhere to run. With the levels of intoxication, they turned on each other and started to spill the beans.

Two of the suspects who are brothers traded blame with each accusing the other of dragging them into the mess. “I though you said that you were buying the televisions. I am not a thief,” one was heard saying as a crowd gathered around the house to witness the arrest.

Another suspect who appeared to have been more intoxicated even attempted to get an extra sip of the left over alcohol that had been picked as exhibit. “Si uache tu nimalizie haka kamebaki (Let me just finish what is left of it),” he pleaded with a police officer who was trying to restrain him. The area OCPD said that they were also being investigated over links to other robberies on the area
