Court does the unthinkable to Matatu kamagiras who kidnapped policeman

Judging by their behaviors, these conductors must have attended the same school. Save for a few who are courteous and respectful, the rest are cut from the same clothe; they all seem to have annoying habits that cut across the board.

Travel blogger Drew Binsky once described Nairobi matatus as disco parties on wheels that snake through the city than they would be a means of transport.

Police have recently announced a crackdown on matatu industry to tame the rather annoying gang of touts that leaves you shaking if you meet with their wrath.

Three men were yesterday charged with kidnapping a police officer.

Reuben Ochieng’, Dennis Omondi and Jared Onyango, who appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, are said to have committed the offence on Tuesday.
They are accused of kidnapping Police Constable Robert Nyange at Railways matatu terminus in Nairobi.
The trio faced a second count of assaulting the officer by beating him up and causing him actual bodily harm.

They denied the charges and were released on a bond of Sh300,000 or a cash bail of Sh200,000 each. The case will be heard March 5.Image result for matatu touts charged with kidnapping police officer
The suspects are said to have attacked the officer when he tried to arrest them.
According to the charge sheet, the officer stopped the suspects, who defied and jumped into a car. One of the suspects pulled the officer into the car before they sped off.
The officer was treated at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Lawyer Ilham Said had pleaded with the court to grant his clients favourable bond terms.

Andayi ordered that Onyango, said to have been injured in the incident, be taken to hospital.
