When it comes to the matters of the heart, African men have been accused of being unromantic. This is no different when it comes to Kenyan artistes popping the big question to their girlfriends.

NRG radio presenter and entrepreneur Mwalimu Rachel went on her twitter page and advised Kenyan artists that though the stage proposal is a nice stunt, they should try and be more creative.

Mwalimu Rachel emphasized that she doesn’t necessarily mean men should go for over the top stunts when proposing.

She added that they are so many ways that one can think of popping the question because the stage stunt has officially become a cliche’.

Taking to her twitter account, Mwalimu  Rachel called Kenyan artists to stop poping the questions to their girlfriends while performing since it’s no longer romantic.

“please do not propose to her on stage. everyone is now going to say you know what? aii sasa unacopy king kaka vile alifanya.achana nayo get creative there are so many ways to propose to a woman. i hope i don’t sound bitter.”She tweeted.

Many artists in the 254 wait to go down on their knees, either when they are on stage performing or during a concert. That’s when they pop the ‘will you marry me’ question thinking it’s a grand gesture.

Bahati

Earlier this year, gospel singer Kevin Bahati surprised his wife Diana Marua with a marriage proposal during the EMB Jesus Party in Thika.

The singer who has never been shy to publicly display affection for Diana called her out on stage and made her comfortable on a throne brought on stage by five men.
