Alfred Keter in hot soup again for doing the unexpected to the Court

Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter has been finding himself in  trouble not less than once! Do you remember an incident some years back when he caused drama at a weigh bridge in Kilgil, arguing that he is among lawmakers and could break the same laws at his own will? Well, as if that was not enough, he again found himself in trouble last year when he almost lost his seat following the Court’s cancellation of his election. Again, a warrant of arrest has been issued against the MP.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi issued the warrant on Thursday morning after he failed to appear in court as required.

The case in question involves the forgery of Ksh633 million Treasury Bond.

Keter’s case had come up for a pre-trial hearing in order to confirm whether the evidence sourced by the prosecution was also offered to the defence.

So far, the prosecution has lined up 16 exhibits and 13 witnesses in a bid to prove the charges against Keter.

The pre-trial hearing (initially planned for Thursday) has, however, been pushed to February 14 pending the arrest of the MP and further directions from the court.

The others charged with Keter for the alleged forgery are businessmen Madat Saburali and Arthur Sakwa.

The two are co-directors of Desai Industries. All of the accused have been out after posting a bail of Ksh2 Million each.
