Maurizio Sarri makes shocking Eden Hazard comments amid Real Madrid links

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has bizarrely said that star man Eden Hazard can leave the club, in comments that are unlikely to go down well with the Blues faithful.

Hazard continues to be hotly linked with a monster move to Real Madrid, however supporters remain hopeful that the playmaker swats away any rumoured interest, and commits his future to the London outfit.

The 28-year-old has 10 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League so far this season with Chelsea still in contention to win both domestic cups and the Europa League, while they are currently fourth in the league, although Arsenal have now joined the club on 47 points.

In his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Bournemouth tonight, Hazard’s boss Sarri appeared to open up the door to a potential exit – quotes via Sky Sports.

“Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go.”

However, the Italian did then quickly state that he hopes the Belgian does opt to stay at Stamford Bridge, although his first comments make it seem like he’s already admitting that a move could be on the cards.

“Of course, I hope the opposite, I hope he wants to stay here. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment.”

Hazard, who has 18 months left on his current contract, will be looking to forge an effective partnership with new signing Gonzalo Higuain who is expected to make his Premier League debut against Bournemouth tonight.

Hazard has previously hinted at a switch to Real Madrid, after responding to a question in the summer which asked whether he would fancy a move.

“Why not? You know it very well. You’re asking the question, but you know what the answer will be so you don’t have to ask it.”
