Detectives from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) on Wednesday arrested Manyatta B Member of County Assembly (MCA) Pamela Akinyi Odhiambo over alleged forgery of her university papers.

According to EACC, the MCA allegedly presented to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) a fake completion letter from KCA University to be cleared for the 2017 elections.

Taking to their twitter handle, EACC said, the MCA  was arrested after she was found guilty of forgery.

EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak

“@EACCKenya has today arrested Ms. Pamela Akinyi Odhiambo, the MCA of Manyatta B Ward, Kisumu for forgery and uttering a false document that was presented to IEBC during the 2017 General Election. The forged document was a completion letter from KCA University. @NationBreaking”

Adding that“After the 2017 General Election, the Commission received a report that the MCA had forged her documents prompting EACC to conduct investigations,”.

Confirming the arrest, Western Region Deputy Manager Chibole Aura said they are also in pursuit of a former KCA University staff in Kisumu identified as Alfred Otieno Ouma who they have established helped her in the forgery.

Mr. Aura, while addressing the press at the EACC offices in Kisumu where the MCA was being processed, said the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had given consent for her to be arrested and charged.

The MCA will be arraigned at the Kakamega Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday where she will take plea.
