Tottenham could face competition from north London rivals Arsenal in their bid to land Leeds talent Jack Clarke.

The 18-year-old winger has emerged as a top target for Spurs and they are understood to have been trying to force through a deal before the January transfer window closes.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have now started keeping close tabs on the £12million-rated Clarke, who has scored twice in 11 league appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s Championship leaders.

Clarke’s agent, former Leeds ace Ian Harte, insisted he won’t be leaving Elland Road this transfer window, stating on Twitter that “Jack will be staying at Leeds and wants to get the club back to where it belongs”.

It is understood Leeds will not let Clarke go this transfer window despite Spurs eyeing a move which would see them loan Clarke back to the club for the rest of the season.

And by the time the summer comes around, they could face serious competition from the Gunners, particularly if their self-imposed transfer restrictions are lifted.

Crystal Palace were previously linked with Clarke, but his growing reputation is now attracting some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
