West Ham refuse to throw in towel in chase for 27-year-old

According to today’s printed Sun (page 52) West Ham are not giving up on their attempt to try and sign John Fleck from Sheffield United.

The Blades midfielder is now 27-years-old and is bang in his prime – proving to be one of the key components in their charge for promotion this season.

However, the Hammers are not letting that deter them and have gone in with a second offer for the player, after their first one was rebuffed.

And, that said, the report is claiming that for the price the Blades might well let him have a shot at the Premier League this season – providing that they could also get a replacement lined up.

This would certainly be some surprise if it did end up going ahead.

Fleck is a good midfielder and is ready for a crack at the Premier League – though come the end of the season he might well get that with the Blades.

If the Hammers offer enough cash they might well get him in, though, and he’d certainly add some bite and thrust to their side if he did join as they look to finish the season in the top half of the table.
