Emotions have been flying high after the revelation that a lady by the name Lydia Achieng was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment at Lang’ata women’s prison for a crime she did not commit.
Lydia Achieng’ is one month to freedom after spending ten years in jail following her visit upcountry when she decided to assist an orphaned girl in pursuing her education from class six in Kiserian, Kajiado County but a few years later the girls lover’s mother revenged by sending her to jail through falsified information that the courts failed to acknowled despite a confession from the accuser
Disappointed Kenyans have expressed that the account of Lydia Achieng is by far one of the most painful they have watched and heard in the recent past demanding to know the magistrate responsibe behind the injustice so that someone can take the fall.
We demand to know the names of the magistrate who convicted “Lydia Achieng”, the woman who accused her, the boy she allegedly defiled and the police who took up the case. We also want to know how much the woman paid the magistrate, prosecutor, cops etc… ASAP @DPPS_KE

Imagine serving years, even decades in prison for a crime you didn’t commit and then – when you’re finally exonerated and released – you’re not guaranteed any form of compensation. Courts shouldn’t assume that you’ll just pick up from where you left. Lydia Achieng?? pic.twitter.com/TiAsqREgjt

Lydia Achieng’s story highlights the horrible miscarriage of justice perpetrated against children of a lesser god.
The magistrate and all parties involved in this horrible crime, including Sophie her accuser, need to be held answerable.https://t.co/KjxuGs1jIl
