He indeed Went For Greener Pastures, Here is the Club Gor Mahia’s outcast Guikan Has Joined

Guikan pens two-year deal in Zambia after ditching Gor

Ivorian and former Gor Mahia striker Ephrem Guikan has penned a two-year deal with Zambian outfit Buildcon FC  just a day after parting ways with the Kenyan giants.

No financial details of the deal were immediately made public but it is understood the Ivorian has landed an improved deal.

Buildcon plays its home matches at the 50,000 seater capacity Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Guikan and the Gor management agreed to part ways on mutual agreement, after the Ivorian found regular playtime hard to come by under former coach Dyaln Kerr and current tactician Hassan Oktay.

The unsettled forward reportedly fell out with head coach Hassan Oktay after he was taken off in the first half in K’Ogalo’s 4-1 drubbing of Mount Kenya United early this month, storming out of the pitch and walking straight to the dressing room, with a section of fans jeering him off.

Following the incident, Gor Mahia’s deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala promised the club would take action against him if the technical bench recommended so.

His exit comes barely a week after lanky midfielder Humphrey Mineo ditched the club for St George FC of Ethiopia.

Gor Mahia are scheduled to play Sony Sugar in a league match tomorrow before battling it out with Egyptian heavyweights Zamalek FC on Sunday in their opening Group D match of the Confederations Cup as pressure piles on head coach Hassan Oktay, having gone three games in a row without a win.
