A barmaid from Ndalani Market in Machakos County has been arrested on allegations of setting a customer ablaze over Ksh100 debt.
The woman doused the man in petrol before using a matchstick to set him alight on Sunday night.
The victim was rushed to Matuu Level 4 Hospital for emergency treatment, and thereafter, transferred to Machakos Level 5 Hospital for advanced medical treatment.
Area Assistant Chief, Juvenalius Ngonyi, confirmed the incident, saying the suspect is being detained at Yatta Police Station as investigations continue.
