Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do in six weeks what no other Premier League manager has ever done!

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has only been in charge of Manchester United for a touch under six weeks yet already he is on the cusp of smashing a Premier League record.

Since replacing Jose Mourinho in December the Norwegian has effortlessly romped to eight wins from eight league and cup matches, six of which have come in the top-flight, matching the feats of Pep Guardiola (Man City) and Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea) when they first jetted over to England.

So when Burnley rock into Old Trafford tomorrow night, Solskjaer can make history by registering seven wins from his opening seven matches at a Premier League club, something no other gaffer has ever accomplished.

With 4th-placed Chelsea not in action until Wednesday, Solskjaer’s men can draw level with the Blues on 47 points – when Mourinho was sacked United were a whopping 11 points adrift of the top-four.

Solskjaer, at the time a surprising choice for interim manager, has proved that a lot can change in a small amount of time, and while he remains coy on the permanent position he’s now the odds-on frontrunner for the post.

“With or without me, it doesn’t really matter because I’m here now as part of that, to prepare the team for next season. But, of course, that means doing well now,” he said in the build-up to Burnley’s game.

A much-changed Burnley may head into tomorrow’s match on the back of a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Man City in the FA Cup, but their league form is decent, with Sean Dyche’s registering 10 points from their last four matches.

However, not only are Man Utd awash with confidence at the moment, they’ve not lost at home to their Lancashire opponents in 19 matches dating back to 1962.
