Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has made new appointments of top managers in a number of public universities.
Ms Mohamed has appointed Prof Fatuma Nyaguthii Chege as the deputy vice-chancellor in charge of administration at Kenyatta University.
Prof Chege will serve for a period of five years.
Until her appointment, she was holding the position in an acting capacity.
The CS has also appointed Prof Mohamed Hussein Abdille as the deputy vice-chancellor (administration, finance and planning) at Maasai Mara University.
Prof Abdille will serve for a period of five years. Until his appointment, he was the chairman of the Department of Human Pathology at Egerton University.
Prof Bulitia Godrian Mathews will serve at deputy vice-chancellor for academic and student affairs at Maasai Mara University.
Also appointed is Prof Peter Muruinge as the principal of Tharaka University College for a period of five years.
Prof Bernard Wamuti Ikua and Prof Robert Kinyua have also been appointed as acting deputy vice-chancellors at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology for six months.
The two will serve until substantive DVCs are appointed.
