Patient terrorist kills one patient & injures nurses at Nanyuki referal

Since the Dusit attack, Kenya has received warnings from the US Embassy for citizens to be vigilant of certain areas vulnerable to terror attacks. This was closely followed by an explosion of an IED at the Latema/Tom Mboya street junctionthat injured twoyesterday in the evening.

Well that was not the only scary chaos in the country another terrorist was in a referal hospital doing the shocking.

A family in Timau is seeking justice after their 42-year-old son was killed on Saturday night in unclear circumstances at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital where he had been receiving treatment.

Ronney Mutuma was allegedly hit by a male patient using a blunt object on the head before he succumbed to the injury later in the night.

The County Minister for Health, Joseph Lenain, said the deceased was attacked by a patient who had been receiving treatment for epilepsy and hypertension.

On the fateful day, the accused aged 48 is said to have turned violent, killing the deceased and injuring six other patients and two nurses.

“The deceased who was being treated for diabetes was diagnosed three days ago and admitted at the county hospital,” Lenai said.

Laikipia East OCPD Kizito Mutoro said that they are investigating the matter, but also cautioned hospital staff to be more careful with such patients in future.
