Nairobi Regional Commander’s statement on Latema Explosion that has irked Kenyans

There was an explosion in Nairobi CBD on Saturday night when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off at Latema road.

According to police reports, a trolley pusher had been approached by a suspected terrorist to carry a luggage which had the device inside.

On reaching Latema junction, the suspect excused “himself” claiming that “he” had forgotten “his” Identification Card, and that is when the IED went off after being detonated by the suspect.

Reports from media maintained that the suspect was an unidentified person.

However, Nairobi Regional Commander Philip Ndolo in his statement on the incident concluded that the suspect was a Somali man.

KTN kenya reporter who traced the trolley pusher who had been admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital after getting injured reported that the suspect who approached the Cat pusher was a lady.

The reporter said that the lady had agreed to pay 100 hundred for her luggage to be pushed to Latema road which she paid instantly. She later excused herself, arguing that she had forgotten her ID, just before the explosive device went off.
