Although the media always ensures that the information given to the public is factual and accurate, there are cases when this is not achieved.
During the Dusit D2 Riverside attack, information was said to have flown smoothly and the police reports matched that of the media.
The media was applauded of its coverage and improvement in that sector of handling such sensitive and crutial reports.
However, in reporting of the Latema Explosion there seems to have been some sort of contradicting reports that Kenyans failed to understand.
Let me say I was personally thrown into confusion and I could read the contradiction between the brief given by the Nairobi Regional Commander Philip Ndolo and the report that was given by a KTN News Reporter.
The facts were laid bare on the unraveling of events as well as the number of the injured.
The mismatch came in identifying the suspect who handed in the ‘luggage’.
