Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 in the FA Cup on Friday evening, putting us through to the fifth round at their expense.
Former Arsenal player, Alexis Sanchez, scored the opening goal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reflected on how that’s a product of Sanchez’s improved confidence.
It was a fantastic finish and a great pass from Rom I have to say. Just before that I’d said ‘Rom you should be in the box!’ But then he makes that pass which was fantastic.

The more confidence you have as a player the more you want to get onto the pitch, train, work hard and you also trust yourself. He’s been injured lately so it was great to see him get 65/70 minutes tonight and he can only improve and I think he knows that himself.
Jesse Lingard doubled United’s lead before Arsenal pulled one back. Substitute Anthony Martial secured the win for United late on. Both goals were scored on the break and Solskjaer talked of how this is what we regularly do away to Arsenal.
The second and third goals were classic Man United counter-attacks.
If you go through the history and the games we’ve played against Arsenal that’s how it is. I remember a goal I scored in 1997 after we defended a corner; it went from Giggsy to Karel [Poborsky] to Andy [Cole] and into me. Everyone knows about the classic Champions League goal [in 2009] with Ji [-sung Park], Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Wayne [Rooney] running forward. Wazza has scored a couple more like that, as has Ji, so the counter-attacking threat that we have is in our history against Arsenal.
