It is almost one week since the bloody terror attack at the Dusit D2 Hotel in Nairobi. The attack unfolded after terrorists forced their way into the hotel and started shooting unarmed civilians.
At least 21 people, among them American Jason Spindler, were killed in the attack. Almost 700 more were rescued by security forces.
Somali based terror group Al Shabaab, said they orchestrated the attack. They said the attack was in retaliation of US President Donald Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem the capital city of Israel.
And now the US embassy in Kenya has issued another security alert warning the public to be vigilant in public spaces such as shopping malls, hotels, and places of worship.
Through their Twitter account on Friday, the embassy asked the public to be aware of their surroundings and stay alert in locations frequented by tourists and Westerners.
It also advised foreigners to have their travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
The public was also advised to review their personal security plans.
