Kenyans have been warned over sharing, speaking, publishing or writing any words that do not promote good relations, harmony and peaceful co-existence between persons of different ethnic and racial communities of Kenya.

This warning was issued earlier today by  the national cohesion and integration commission   insisting that they do not condone hate speech.

NCIC’s mandate is to facilitate equality of opportunity, good relations, harmony and peaceful co-existence in Kenya.

Kenyans have also been urged to report  speeches  that are causing hatred, encourage ethnic group violence, depict others as inferior or degrades them, those that dehumanizes, those that are of cultural stereotypes, or use abusive, negative and insulting language.

According to the NCIC, any speeches that fall under that category are termed as hate speech.

NCIC also noted that ethnopolitics is a threat to peace and goes against the boundaries of freedom of expression.

Kenyans have been advised to avoid speeches that incite and use provocative language or use stories that profile people and communities.

In the spirit of harmony, NCIC have asked all Kenyans to  be responsible and issue their complaints in regard to hate speech cases  through the number below.
