Kilifi Politician funds for an upgrade of the disabled community

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has shown his support to the persons living with disabilities by funding an initiative that will go towards the purchase and distribution of wheelchairs.

Earlier yesterday,the governor donated a cheque worth KES. 300,000 to the Rotary Club of Malindi  which will facilitate the process.

The Rotary Club of Kenya plays a key role in complementing Government efforts to combat modern day challenges including illiteracy, healthcare, diseases, youth development as well as environmental concerns.

As a County Government, Kingi assured that they will continue to strengthen their collaboration and explore more avenues to deepen their relationship with the Rotary Club of Kenya and other like-minded organisation so as to ensure that we secure the wellbeing of his people and bring about a lasting change- in our community and in ourselves.

Yesterday, the governor also launched the Kilifi County Micro-finance Fund popularly known as the “Mbegu Fund”.

This is a revolving seed fund that aims to empower small and medium enterprises registered with the Kilifi County Government by providing interest-free loans which will act as capital either to start-up or expand their existing business enterprises.

Kingi also assured of their commitment as a Government in providing support towards empowering the Kilifi community economically through different business initiatives and ventures.

“I also take this opportunity to wish all the groups that have received their loans today all the very best in their business endeavours.” reads his statement in part

He also  encouraged Kilifi residents to proactively manage the available resources ; be innovative in order to achieve their aspirations as a County, including the Big 4 Agenda as envisioned by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta.
