Was Mike Sonko Carrying a Gun at the scene of the deadly Dusit attack?
Well, his communications Director Elkana Jacob last week tried to make Kenyans believe that the City boss was just carrying a power bank, claims that Sonko has now come out to refute.
In an interview on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live, Sonko made it clear that he was not carrying a power bank and that what was in his pocket was actually a gun.
“I’d like to differ with my communications director and not lie to Kenyans. I didn’t carry a power bank to Dusit during the terrorist attack, I carried a gun!” said Sonko.
When pressed further by Jeff to explain whether he can use a gun very well in case of a shooting, Sonko said that he is a very good shooter and can therefore swing into action.
If there had been shooting (at Dusit) would you have been ready? ~ @KoinangeJeff

At the Dusit D2 attack scene, Sonko, who had accompanied Interior CS Fred Matiang’i to the attack site, was pictured arriving with the butt of a handgun protruding from the right bottom pocket of his beige jacket.
He was also dressed rather casually at what should have been a formal public appearance.
