AFC leopards were no better than their Arch Rivals Gor Mahia after being eliminate from the SportPesa Super Cup by Tanzania giants Simba. Leopards fell behind as early as the 14th minute when uncertainity in the their box allowed Simba to easily slot past the goalkeeper.
Simba added to their lead minutes after the restart when a ball from wing found an unmarked who had all the time in the world to pick his spot and convert once more. Leopards upped the tempo and were duly rewarded when a smart love down the right flank saw leopards easily score past the Simba custodian.
Ingwe huffed and puffed for an equaliser but they could not see their way past a stubborn Simba defence. A Simba midfielder was sent off in the dying secons of the match but it was little too late for leopards who are now the second team to be knocked out at the first hurdle of this year’sedition following Gor Mahia’s exit at the same venue earlier today.
Kenya will however be represented in the Semi Finals by two teams in the mold of in form Kariobangi Sharks and coastal based side Bandari FC.
