Man Charged With Giving False Information Points a Blaming Finger at Bhang

Have you ever made a silly mistake that later turned costly? Have you ever engaged in an activity that brought you more harm than good?

Well, a man today pleaded guilty to charges of lying to the police that he was a member of the notorious terrorists group the Al shaabab.

The man identified as Kelvin Kitili Julius alias Omar Ali Ibrahim was however quick to claim that he made the confession of being an Alshabaab member while he was under the influence of bhang.

It also emerged that he lied on January 1 that he and “other terrorists” were planning to attack vital installations in Nairobi.

He was charged with hoaxing and giving false information to a person employed by the public service.

The man was also charged with claiming that he had travelled to Somalia.

He will be sentenced later on Wednesday.
