How Ruto has allegedly been using projects to punish those not dancing to tangatanga tune

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reorganization of his administration has welcomed various reactions from differnt leaders across the country.

In what looks like a blow to his deputy Dr William Ruto, President Kenyatta handed Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i a new role.

The latest changes bring Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to the heart of the executive.

The elevation of Matiang’i with supervisory roles across government is likely to whittle down Deputy President William Ruto’s influence.

Matiang’i will take charge of the implementation and monitoring of all development projects initiated and funded by the national government through a new Cabinet sub-committee.

The sub-committee will be known as the National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee. It brings on board all CSs, Attorney General Kihara Kariuki and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

While reacting to the president’s changes, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi claimed that Deputy President William Ruto had been using projects to punish those who do not sing his political tune.

Amisi who was quoted by The Standard seems to have posed the claims following Ruto’s latest move of launching various development projects in regions that are able to dance to his tanga tanga tune.

Minority Leader in the National Assembly John Mbadi who was also reacting to the changes said he supported the President since the move would bring to an end a situation where some leaders dangled development projects to others in exchange for political backing.
