Drained Gor Mahia Walloped by Mbao Fc To End Sportpesa Hatrick Dream

Gor Mahia’s quest for a third successive sportpesa cup came to an end in dramatic fashion after the team went down 4-3 to Tanzania’s Mbao FC on post match penalties.

The match ended 1-1 on regular time with Gor Mahia grabbing the lead courtesy of a Dennis oliech Penalty in the 51st minute before Mbao equalized in the 77th minute.

The match went to penalties with Gor Mahia’s captain Harun Shakava and defender Batambuze missing their chances after Tuyisenge, Kahata and Boniface Omondi all scored for the Kenyan Champions.

Mbao FC only missed one from the sport with the Tanzanian based club smashing in four past Gor Mahia’s custodian Peter Odhiambo.

Mbao Fc’s Mwasa scored the winning penalty to send the Mbao fans into joy and celebration at the Taifa Stadium.  Gor Mahia will definitely rue the missed chances as they exit the competition which they’ve won twice in a row.
