Cases of University Students missing only to be later found dead have lately been on the rise with apparently no single week passing without such news.
Many of them have been found murdered in cold blood, ladies raped while others have never been traced to date since they were reported missing.
Kenyans on twitter today took it upon themselves to discuss this issue under the hashtag #JusticeForComrades.
Through this hashtag, Kenyans pointed out some past murder and abduction cases of University students that remain unresolved to date.
Cases like those of Mercy Keino and Careen Chepchumba were all brought up with Social media users quick to point out that the people that had a hand in their death are still walking Scot free and in fact eating life with a big spoon.
Kenyans have called for speedy investigations into the deaths but even at that, the question at many people’s lips is this, Who is to be blamed for these deaths?
Is it the parents of the affected? Is it the students or the society at large?
Below are Some of the Reactions From Kenyans:
The murderers of Mercy Keino and Careen Chepchumba are getting on with their lives, drinking expensive whiskey and kissing their children goodnight while the parents of Careen and Mercy cry themselves to sleep. #JusticeForComrades

We don’t just condemn the acts but want the accused behind bars. We also want them to be charged in court to make them feel the pain.

We strengthen our institutions when we challenge them to work harder, but PEACEFULLY.
Our students, being tomorrow’s professionals and leaders must lead from the front in showing the world that we can achieve justice without violent confrontations.#justiceforcomrades— Agnes Kagure (@itsagneskagure) January 22, 2019
