Angry residents of Gathiriku village in Mwea, Kirinyaga County have lynched a 25-year-old man who is alleged to have been a serial rapist.
Reverend Jamleck Muriuki of Gathiriku Gospel Church said the man, Peter Mwangi, even bragged of raping married women.
Riagiceru Sub-Location Assistant Chief Peter Gachoki said he has heard claims that the now-deceased raped at least 20 women, though his office received ten cases of such nature.

Mwangi raped a 20-year-old woman on Saturday, prompting angry villagers to look for him and kill him the following day.
According to Mwangi’s father, Samson Magu, his son dropped out of school in Class Five in 2005, and started engaging in theft.
“He defied my multiple warnings to him,” said Magu.
Peter Mwangi’s body was moved to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital mortuary.
