Chelsea Want New Paul Pogba From Barcelona, Meeting With Agent

Moriba, 16, has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City and Juventus having been labelled the new Paul Pogba.

The midfielder is playing for Barcelona’s youth team and been a regular in their side for the UEFA Youth League.

Spanish outlet Sport though report that Chelsea are now keen to sign Moriba and have held a meeting with player’s agent.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia, who is Roman Abramovich’s person of confidence at Stamford Bridge, reportedly has permission to go all out for Moriba.

It’s claimed that the Blues have offered a better deal than City and Barcelona with the Premier League expected to suit the teenager.

Moriba isn’t currently training with Barcelona’s Under-19 team as he looks to sort his future.

He turned 16 on Saturday with today expected to be decision day before Chelsea got involved.

Barcelona are believed to be keen to keep their gem and have made a big effort to satisfy Moriba’s agents demands.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has made it keen he wants a new midfielder, though it would be unlikely that Moriba would go straight into Chelsea’s squad.

Zenit St Petersburg star Leandro Paredes is understood to be Chelsea’s No 1 target for midfield.

Zenit had paid £24m for Paredes from Roma in July 2017 and it’s believed they want a significant profit with the midfielder regularly impressing.

The west London team sold Cesc Fabregas recently, with the Spaniard joining Monaco.

Sarri is keen to get a new man in and admitted after Chelsea beat Newcastle 2-1 last week that a replacement for Fabregas is needed.

“Today Jorginho was in trouble and on the bench there wasn’t a player for that position. I need an option for Jorginho,” Sarri said after the win over the Magpies.

“After the goal I think we thought ‘now it’s easy’, but it wasn’t.

“We slept for 20, 25 minutes, so at the end of the first half we were in trouble. We need to improve in the mental reaction.”
