Sacked Man Utd Boss Mourinho Spotted With Manager In Doha

Manchester United sacked Jose Mourinho in mid-December after a disappointing start to the season.

The boss left the club sixth in the Premier League and way off the pace of title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City.

Mourinho has only held one interview since the sacking – and that was on the street in London when reporters jumped the Portuguese boss.

The 55-year-old is set to speak about his time at United when he appears in front of the BeIN Sports screens as a pundit for Qatar vs Saudi Arabia in the Asian Cup.

And the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid manager has been spotted in Doha ahead of the broadcast.

Mourinho spoke to Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira in what appears to be a hotel lobby.

Ferreira has been coach of Al Saad since 2015 and has previously managed Porto.

Indeed, he joined Mourinho’s former club just two years after the Portuguese won the Champions League title with Porto.

South African Ferreira, 72, has also had stints at Benfica, Braga, Boavista and Sporting Lisbon.

He managed Malaga for a brief period in 2010 and also spent two years in charge of Panathinaikos.

As for Mourinho, it is understood he will not be able to speak about his exit from United on the show today.

The out-of-work manager has a confidentiality clause in his Manchester United contract which could be breached if he reveals too much detail about his exit.

However, he will be free to discuss United’s transfers, his relationship with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the tumultuous summer.

Whether or not Mourinho chooses to speak about these subjects, we will have to wait and see.

The broadcast starts at 3pm UK time with an hour allotted to the Mourinho discussion.
