NCIC: Perpetrators of incitement to violence during Dusit attack will be brought to book

The National Cohesion Integration of Kenya has today issued a statement to condemn the Dusit attack.

They also assured Kenyans that the perpetrators of incitement and violence amid the attack will be brought to book.

Inspector General Joseph Boinnet had yesterday  warned against terrorist sympathizers who were taking advantage of the tragedy.

In today’s statement by  NCIC, they  said that the commission had noted with great concern inciteful and hate messages trending on social media pages. They also called upon Kenyans to be vigilant and oppose such criminal acts.

“Amidst this tragedy, the Commission  We are saddened that some of these hate messages are profiling and portraymg some communities as terrorists. Indeed as Kenyans, we MUST be vigilant to oppose these pernicious acts that are not justified by any sane logic. Terrorism is a criminal offence and should not be tolerated at all.” reads statement  in part

The Commission added that together with other security agencies they are working closely to ensure that such perpetrators of hate and incitement to violence are held responsible for their actions.

NCIC mentioned that they are saddened by the loss of lives as a result of this attack. They also sent their condolences to the families and friends of the affected.

“We take this opportunity to also wish quick recovery to all those injured as a result of this heinous attack.” reads statement

NCIC also urged all Kenyans to use mainstream or social media responsibly reminding citizens of their  responsibility to fight terrorism and ensure a peaceful society.
