Its both shocking and sad what at times men may do when overcome by pressure in life.Police in Kwale are currently investigating an incident in which a GSU officer committed suicide in Kinango subcounty.

Thomas Kibet Chepkwony, 26, who was attached to Mackinnon GSU camp, shot himself in the head using a G3 riffle on Sunday.

According to a report from Taru police station, Chepkwony pointed the gun at the top of his head and pulled the trigger. The bullet exited through his chin.

The body was taken to Voi Hospital mortuary.

The Kwale security department called for a good working relationship among police officers, saying some are stressed by family issues which can lead to suicide.

Suicidal thoughts are common, and many people experience them when they are undergoing stress or experiencing depression.

In most cases, these are temporary and can be treated, but in some cases, they place the individual at risk for attempting or completing suicide.

Most people who experience suicidal ideation do not carry it through, although some may make suicide attempts.

Anyone who has suicidal thoughts should ask for help. If a loved one is having these thoughts, measures should be taken to help and protect them.
