Kenyans read malice in ODM’s special prayers for Sumra

People across the world believe in different religious faiths. Some believe in Christianity, some in Islam whereas some believe in Hinduism. Most Indians are the ones that have laid their faith in Hinduism, with some of them believing in Islamic religion. But now, are there any Indians that believe in Christianity? Well, maybe former Embakasi South Member of Parliament Irshad Sumra does!

On Sunday, the ODM Party held special prayers for Sumra at Christ the Cornerstone Church in Kwa Reuben slums, next to hope centre in Embakasi South Constituency.

This follows the upcoming by-elections in the region following the nullification of Wiper’s Julius Mawathe election in a petition filed by Sumra at the Supreme Court.

The Party also hinted that it would be gearing up for the by-election. Members of Parliament, MCAs and Party officials attended the prayers.

However, Kenyans on twitter did receive the message as per the expectations of the party. They faulted the party for forcing leaders on them, with some questioning if by any chance party nominations were not going to be held.

Some laughed out at the party for holding special prayers in a church, to a Hinduism believer. Another KOT accused the party for hypocrisy, quoting an incident when ODM condemned President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s prayers during last 2017 polls campaign.
