Manchester United eyeing Barcelona star

Manchester United have been biding their time, but have at the very least been linked with some new players. The Red Devils are ready to make a move for Liverpool’s former star who joined Barcelona in the winter of 2018 and also the Catalan’s nemesis, Kostas Manolas who scored the goal that eliminated Barca from the Champions League.

Philippe Coutinho To Manchester United A Possibility?

The Barcelona midfielder was rather sensationally linked with a move to Manchester United at the start of January. The transfer seems ridiculous in that he’d cost a bomb, he’s at Barcelona and he used to play for the Red Devils’ bitter rivals, Liverpool. Of course, Coutinho hasn’t quite settled in at the Nou Camp as he’d hoped, but everything suggests this transfer won’t happen.

However, odds on the Brazilian making a move to Manchester United have suddenly – and quite dramatically – been slashed. Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek even told The Sun: “Not many players have featured for Liverpool and Manchester United. If Coutinho did make the switch, he would follow in the footsteps of Michael Owen and Paul Ince to appear on both sides of the divide. With the multitude of bets placed on the move, this is definitely one to watch out for throughout the transfer window.”

Kostas Manolas On His Way To Old Trafford

Kostas Manolas is reportedly close to making a £30million switch to Manchester United. Spanish publication Marca claim that the Red Devils are keen to thrash out a deal this month to avoid missing out on him in the summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has so far remained coy over United’s transfer activity.

He said: “I don’t expect anyone to come in but obviously if the club have targeted and identified a few and I think they might fit here, I’ll give my thumbs up. But it’s not just my decision. Nobody had to tell me I had loads of talented players [to inherit at United]. I can see that from outside.”
