Yannick Carrasco has taken a step closer to joining the Gunners as they have been offered the Belgian ace and the player is willing to take a pay cut to join up with Unai Emery’s men. Carrasco is now just 2/1 with the bookies to join Unai Emery’s men this month but with Arsenal’s limited transfer budget a loan move, with a view to signing permanently in summer may be the most likely scenario.

Unai Emery is after a top class winger to bolster his squad as he is currently relying on Alex Iwobi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Alexandre Lacazette to provide his side with some width.

An out and out wide man would provide the former PSG boss with another option heading into the second half of the season.

Carrasco is willing to leave China after just one year in Asia but he will have to take a serious pay cut if he is to make the move back to Europe. The player currently earns around £200k a week for Dalian Yifang but that figure would have to be seriously reduced if he was to make the move to the Premier League.

With Mesut Ozil earning a whopping £350k a week and the club having spent big on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in recent years.

Now the club must reign in their spending and will not be able to spend any huge transfer fees in this window.

The Belgium wide man was forced to play at left wing-back under Roberto Martinez at the World Cup but is a much more dangerous outlet further forward. He scored seven goals and nine assists in the CSL last season as the side did not meet expectations, finishing 11th in a 16 team league. Carrasco would like to cut short his time in the division and at 25-years-old he still has time to grow into one of Europe’s most dangerous wide men.
