Martha Karua defends Uhuru’s “Washenzi” remark

Former Justice and legal affairs minister Martha Karua has come out publicly to defend President Uhuru Kenyatta remarks.

President Uhuru Kenyatta when launching the Mama Ngina Drive project in Mombasa referred to those who were terming his development agenda as not equal to all Kenyans as Washenzi which can be closely be translated to fools.

President Uhuru Kenyatta said that his development agenda is all inclusive of all Kenyans from all parts of the country.

That Washenzi remark has sparked a lot of debate from Kenyan people and politicians.

But Martha Karua in a press conference in Nairobi accompanied by Peter Kenneth, Issac Mwaura, Fedinard Waititu among other leaders from the region came in defense of the President.

Karua said that the washenzi remark was directed at the leaders irritating the President and not to the mwananchi. This comes as a section of leaders in support of Moses Kuria and Kimani Ngunjiri have been trolling the president for his remark.
