Hip Hop Artist JuaCali has recently given his opinion as to why the Kenyan music these days is mostly limited within the Kenyan borders.

This is in a discussion that he had during an interview on Mseto East Africa.

The host of the radio show Mzazi Willy M Tuva  had questioned why unlike the previous times, it seems so difficult for Kenyan artists to headline during shows in countries as Tanzania and Uganda.

JuaCali was among the pioneer artists who managed to cross the borders for shows and concerts which does not happen as much with the current state of the music industry.

In his opinion, JuaCali says that as artists during their time, the songs were melodious and people could easily sing along.

He however added saying that artists like Nyashinski and Sauti Sol have been singing songs full of melody.

JuaCali mentioned that the artists across be borders might have taken that strategy and worked on it and are implementing just that in their songs.

From the opinion of Tanzanians who listen to Kenyan music, they claim that  the tbt songs had a special Kenyan touch and were unique songs.

They also add on saying that the current songs have in a way lost touch of that unique aspect as some of the artist seem to be producing songs similar to their bongo songs.

JuaCali backs this opinion up saying that  imitating other artists is one of the factors that is making Kenyan artists loose it in the market.
