President Uhuru’s favourite girl in trouble

We all remember her for her hilarious poem dubbed “Mvua hii” that awed the President in 2015 at the Sagana State Lodge during the national school music festivals that were graced by President Kenyatta.

Emily Wanjiru Wanjiru then six years old recited the Mvua hii poem touching the president as it talked about the leaking roof of their house and the President decided to the family to get out of poverty.

The family was living in  Gachororo in a makeshift wooden house and Team Uhuru  led by Dennis Itumbi moved them from their house and took them to a rental house within the same area in Gachororo and paid rent for 22 months while Wanjiru got sponsorship to join St Petroc Premier School in Runyenjes Embu.

However the 22 months seems to be over as the family has now comeout crying out for help claiming they have been evicted from their house as they could not afford to pay for rent anymore.

According to Nduta who is Wanjiru’s guardian says that she has a major challenge with Wanjiru as she is schooling in Embu and is unable to cater for her school needs, which have been escalating as only school fees is catered for.

Nduta still collects garbage as a living so that she is able to feed the family of five which includes Wanjiru’s two brothers, Her Mother, and a cousin.
