Kenyan ladies have today raised their concern over a wave of tampon shortage in Nairobi City.
From the conversations online, some are claiming that the shortage has hit Kisumu as well.
The conversation was triggered by a vocal feminist Scheaffer Okore, who asked whether ladies have noticed the shortage.
Tampons being among the basic/ essential need for the ladies, this could be be frustrating.
For anyone who seems clueless about what this discussion is about, a tampon is a feminine hygiene product designed to absorb the menstrual flow through insertion into the vagina during menstruation.
Some ladies have shared how the shortage is affecting them.
I went to multiple supermarkets last month to get some and couldn’t find them. Had to opt for chemists. So frustrating!
That explains it. The shortage has been on for several months now.. Especially the OB super
Is there a tampon shortage in Nairobi and I'm not talking about the mini ones?

A lady from Malindi also says that the situation is similar in their county. The lady says that she has been trying to get some for about two months and her efforts have been fruitless.
This brings us to the question of whether our supermarkets have run out of stock
Although there are other options as the sanitary towels, this might not be the preference of some individuals and thus a need for this concern to be addressed.
Some ladies have identified only a few stores where they can buy the tampons.
Suppliers have also been urged to address the shortage inorder to end the frustration.
Have a look at the reactions
