African football icon Samuel Eto’o is reportedly considering to launch a coaching career, but has expressed a claim that there is a discrimination against black coaches in football.
The former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan 36-year-old striker who is currently finishing off his career at Qatar SC, is starting to look ahead to life after football, including the possibility of coaching.
“Many black former players don’t get the coaching license, but there are also many who do have this,” Eto’o told Canal+
“There is a lack of trust.”
The famously controversial Cameroonian added that black coaches are simply discriminated against based on class.
“That trust doesn’t exist and we are seen as second-class citizens,” Eto’o stated
