Monaco boss Thierry Henry insists a deal to take Cesc Fabregas to Monaco is not yet complete.

The midfielder is expected to seal a switch to the Ligue 1 strugglers after an emotional farewell appearance for Chelsea in their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

Fabregas missed a penalty in the first half before being withdrawn to a standing ovation after the break.

He has since jetted to France to iron out a move to Monaco who are threatened by relegation to the second tier under Henry.

Arsenal legend Henry played alongside Fabregas for the Gunners and says he has been in regular contact with his former teammate since he left north London. And while he admits an interest, Henry has denied claims a deal has been struck.

Speaking ahead of Monaco’s clash against Rennes, he said: “Fabregas you saw, like me, there was a standing ovation, tears.

“Since my departure from Arsenal we talk every two or three days with Cesc. It has not changed in recent days. He is a player who interests all clubs.”

Chelsea are holding out for a fee of around £10million for Fabregas who is expected to pen a two-and-a-half-year deal at Monaco.
