Renown actor thanks Satan for inspiring his play role

The 76th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony is considered a lighter and less solemn precursor to the Oscars, and was held in Beverly Hills on Monday morning.

Christian Bale-starrer political drama, won the Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) award for Vice, while Rami Malek won the Best Actor (Drama) award for Bohemian Rhapsody.

Bale had one unconventional figure to thank in his acceptance speech during the golden globes event.“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration for playing this role,” he said about his character of Dick Cheney in the political satire.

He also said McKay, in casting Cheney, wanted to find “somebody that can be absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody,” and that he will be “cornering the market on the charisma-free a–holes.”

The 76th annual Golden Globe Awards were held in honour of the best films and television of 2018. The yearly ceremony is considered a lighter and less solemn precursor to the Oscars, and was held in Beverly Hills on Monday morning.

Bale has been widely praised for his portrayal of a growling Cheney in “Vice,” gaining 60 pounds for the part and seemingly disappearing into the role of the resilient and ruthlessly ambitious politician. He’s been nominated for a SAG and Critics’ Choice Award for “Vice,” and was regarded as the frontrunner for the Golden Globe.
