The handshake could just be the best thing that has ever happened to this Country. With it came peace and tranquility in the Country. Political hatchets were buried with various leaders across the divide pledging to work together to better the Nation.
The Key Protagonists in the handshake deal, Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga became a darling to many people both locally and internationally.
The duo were honoured for their statesmanship and adherence to the principle of political tolerance.
They were awarded by the London Political Summit with the awarding entity saying that the duo are great men and have a long rich history behind them. Both their parents were the founding fathers of Kenyan political and democratic history.
“It is a great privilege to identify with their latest leadership style which infers immense political maturity,” read a statement from the Summit.
Raila and Uhuru were also awarded with honorary degrees from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University for their deal.
Citizens of Gabon and Cameroon are now wishing that Raila and Uhuru were from their countries. In a tweet by one of them, a photo of Uhuru carrying a kid with Raila Odinga was posted with the following caption:
“Can we have this in Gabon and Cameroon one day? President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kenya’s main opposition leader Raila Odinga! Yes this is happening in Africa…”

The Uhuru-Raila handshake is something that should surely be emulated by African leaders and especially those who are hell bent on sticking to power without caring what their Citizens think or feel about their leadership.
