As AU envoy and arguably Kenya’s most influential politician celebrates his birthday, his loyal fans have taken to social media to send goodwill messages. And I must admit that some of the messages are hilarious, to say the least.
At 74 years, Raila has seen it all. Regarded as the father of democracy in Kenya, he has been in and out of prison. He has contested for Presidency on four different ocassions and lost controversially. But he has never lost himself.
Some Kenyans believe that Baba has now officially joined that category of Wahenga walisema, and anything he says this moment going forward should be regarded as a proverb.
Happy Birthday @RailaOdinga , you are now officially part of Wahenga and anything you say will be an official proverb#HappyBirthdayRaila

Another Kenyan has celebrated Baba as the only politician without a Mpango wa Kando, since he was married to mama Ida Odinga in 1973.

Indeed Baba is a force to reckon with and he will remember for his selflessness in the fight for democracy.
