Tanzania Duo Navy Kenzo; Aika and Nahreel were yesterday honored as the ‘Best Group of the Year’ in the Sound City Awards which took place in Nigeria.
Apart from receiving their award, the team was also among the line up of artists who performed during the awarding ceremony which was held at the Eko Convention Centre of Eko Hotels in Lagos
Their performance last night marked the first time in their music career to perform in Nigeria and the pair said that it was an exciting moment. It equally counts as a great milestone as artists in the music industry.
The duo gained their popularity with the song ‘Kamatia Chini’ which was released 2 years ago.
The song has over 6 million views on You Tube and clearly the pair have a huge following. Not just in Tanzania but their music has been of impact in the African market.
The team also featured Diamond Platnumz in their 3 month old song ‘ Katika’ which got has close to 10 million views on You Tube.
Their music has earned them fame, recognition and they totally deserve this award for their efforts and musical enthusiasm.
