Nigerian Singer Burna Boy yesterday cemented his status as the African’s Best at the Sound City MVP Awards in Nigeria.
The awarding ceremony saw took place at the Eko Convention Centre of Eko Hotels in Lagos, Nigeria last night and it brought together several artists from different parts of Africa.
Burna Boy owned the night after he bagged 4 Awards including the most prestigious Award “Africa Artist of the Year”.
Davido and Wizkid who are his main competition in Nigeria got one award each.
The other categories in which Burna Boy shined through include the Listteners choice with his song Ye which was released 5 months ago and has over 8 million views on You Tube.
He also received an award for his Ye Song as the ‘ Song of the Year.
Burna Boy contesting against, Davido, Wizkid, Harmonize, Diamond Platnumz, AKA, Nasty C, Mr Eazi and Olamide was also awarded as the Best Male MVP.
On his twitter page, Burna Boy shared his joy saying that he was humbled and honoured by the awards.
In the efforts of sound city to push the agenda; “Africa is Now”, this year’s awards honored excellent individuals and personalities in the areas of sports, entrepreneurship, creative arts, fashion, digital influence, and socio-political development as it ties into entertainment.
