Three men were earlier in the week handed a thorough beating after they booed and threw stones at South Mugirango MP Slyvanus Osoro.
The incident is alleged to have occurred days after the New Year when the legislator attended a football match at Nyabigena area.
Osoro who reported the matter at Nyamarambe police station claimed that the rowdy men injured his son in the fracas.
The three men were later arrested on Tuesday and later released when the MP had a change of heart.
It was after they were released that they were beaten by unknown people.
“Elders from the area called on me and requested that I forgive the three which I did. I don’t know at what point the suspects were attacked,”
“The idea that they went to the hospital to seek treatment was hatched by some people to painted the picture that I was involved in the alleged beating. Let the police handle the matter amicably and have suspects arrested,” he told journalists.
Confirming the incident, Kisii County Police Coordinator Bernard Muli stated that investigations were ongoing into the matter.
“We are investigating further claims that the suspects were beaten moments after they were released. We must stop politicizing every issue in our community. All offences will be prosecuted based on merit. Police have the capacity to arrest all offenders no matter their status in society,” Muli stated.
On his part, Osoro pointed a finger at his political competitors for the chaos and mystery retaliatory attacks witnessed.
