Pep warned by FA

The Football Association has issued a warning to Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola over his touchline behavior during Thursday’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Liverpool.

The Spaniard was angered by referee Anthony Taylor’s decision not to award a foul following a challenge on Fernandinho by Firmino and reacted by throwing his scarf on the ground and shouting at fourth official Martin Atkinson.

The FA made the announcement on Friday revealing that Guardiola had accrued a stage one warning – his first of the season.

Any manager who receives four such warnings must serve a touchline ban.
