Reasons why Sanchez is still important at Manchester United

Former Manchester United ace Gary Neville believes the best is yet to come from Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford.

After being out for a while with an injury, Sanchez came off from the bench and made an assist as United beat Newcastle 2-0 on Wednesday night.

The Chilean who suffered a hamstring problem in November has netted just four goals in 30 appearances for the Red Devils and Nevile says he is unconvinced by the notion that Sanchez is past his best.

“United have spent a lot of money and here it is, on the bench tonight. Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez has been a world class player for the last six or seven years and I don’t buy into this that in the last six months he has just become a bad player or has just become someone who basically can’t play football anymore three times a week,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“Or that his legs have gone. He still should be capable of destroying teams,” he added.
